POPPIES

I was due to go to Neils on Tuesday but he cancelled as he said he was " a bit fluey. ".  We rescheduled for today but I didn't go as he's no better. Hopefully next week be will be OK.

So I just went down to the village this afternoon.  Parcels to collect from The Convenience Store and Tesco and shopping to do. Yet again no grapes in Tesco.  I got plums and golden kiwis though.

On my walk from the Convenience Store to Tesco I pass The Spoor Memorial Methodist Church and I decided to take a shot of their poppy display for Flower Friday.  Thanks to BikerBear for hosting..

Joseph Spoor ( 1813 - 1869 ) was born in Whickham and was a keelman on the River Tyne (a boatman who transported coal in a shallow bottomed boat called a keel).  He later became a Methodist preacher.  The Church was built in 1871.

The weather today was dull and grey ... again... and its definitely getting colder.

Steps today - 5,001
