Bin Flowers
A day where the this-is-effing-stupid virus took over.
There was an email asking me to make a change that has to be made every year. It affects 2 programs and it's been a thing we've done for 6 years. It involves activating 4 lines of code. And it takes about 1 minute to do that.
Now, how sensible is it to spend 15 minutes opening a JIRA ticket - changing the status and blah blah blah, then opening a HPSM change and waiting 30 minutes until it is activated?
Something snapped - changes made, code promoted and it is active. It took less than 5 minutes. Which seems to me to be very much in keeping with being "agile". Let managers pee their pants, let me do my job.
