Ledbury and back

The main photograph was taken from a layby on the A417 road when I was within sight of Gloucester on the way home. Can't see the Cathedral, its to the right and hidden by a hill, but the tall chimney (just about visible sticking up above the middle of the hill if you 'go large') is at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
The extra photo is, yes you've guessed it, my Bike. Still ticking over and the lights are showing up. What you can't see is how filthy it is from the wet, and often muddy, roads. It's the time of year when tractors are trolling up and down the roads between farms and fields.
After taking the girls to school this morning I set off to see my Aunty Grace
I recounted the last time I tried to visit her, and she wasn't there, which was worrying until I found out what had happened.
She is in an 'Intermediate Care Unit' in Ledbury, a small town with many childhood memories for me from the 50's and early 60's particularly.
It's a bit closer than Tarrington so only took me about 35 minutes to get there from Gloucester.
She was very happy, told me how good the meals were and that the staff are lovely.
When I arrived my cousin Ann was there, with her husband, and shortly afterwards my other cousin, Ann's younger sister, arrived with her husband so it was a bit of a reunion. I'm afraid we usually only see each other, and other cousins, at funerals nowadays although we held a family reunion in 2007 when we had about 50 people from the Rose and Barton families. That number has dwindled a great deal since then, so glad we did it.
I've just had a message from Sally to say that Grace will be going into a lovely care home which is attached to the Ledbury Hospital. They were shown around and Grace is very happy, and quite excited, at the prospect. She's 93 now and I think she was worried living on her own, although she often had visitors and very good neighbours.
I'll make a point of visiting frequently, it's a nice ride from Gloucester.
