Safron milk cap [Lactarious delicios]
Upside down for good reason. A much coveted edible fungi, so called for the saffron coloured liquid it leeks when cut or bruised.
As a former chef I have used this fungi to make a saffron sauce for wild mallard. Not to be confused with fatty birds found in Super markets. that are farmed.
This fungus found under pine or spruce in grass.
The extra is Helvella crispa
