Looking Up

Cirrocumulus clouds appear as small, rounded white puffs. The small ripples in the cirrocumulus sometimes resemble the scales of a fish. A sky with cirrocumulus clouds is sometimes referred to as a "mackerel sky."

There were some interesting cloud formations in the sky tonight on my way home - very appropriate for HeartFreeks July Challenge for today. Not too sure what type as a search on the web indicated they could be any from low lying cumulus to high lying cirrus. The definition above seemed to be the closest match with its reference to "fish scales"
