Wound up in Wexford

Essential supplies

A reasonable night's sleep in the hotel in Swansea.  A nice breakfast.

Then I popped to the supermarket across the road for essential supplies.  It's impossible to buy Warburton's crumpets in Ireland, and I've yet to find a source for Soreen malt loaf.  So no trip to the UK is complete without some of these in the luggage.  In addition, I bought Scotch eggs and pork pies - also difficult to find here in Ireland.

Once packed and in the station, I found my train to Fishguard Harbour.  I was glad I had come through to Swansea last night - there was now a rail replacement bus service between Port Talbot and Swansea.  Last year, after doing this same flute weekend in London, I'd broken my journey in Cardiff - if I'd done that this year I'd have found myself needing to use that bus!

The journey to Fishguard Harbour was uneventful, except for a lack of functioning toilets on the train - we took a long stop in Llanelli for people to use the station loos - we were told these were the last ones before reaching Fishguard.

W was waiting at the port in Rosslare.  It's nice to go away, but lovely to get home to my own bed.  Sadly, I've brought a head cold with me from the UK.
