NOT WAVING BUT DROWNING
I looked for the consolations of Nature this afternoon, especially as the sun eventually came out, and there were plenty: a line of whooper swans flying over the garden, a roe deer watching me from some long grass, surprisingly numerous dragonflies still on the wing and resting wherever the sun could keep them warm (extra) and much else, but it was the image of this struggling dragonfly that stayed with me. Apt somehow for today's mood. It was too far out in the water for me to attempt any sort of rescue which would probably have been futile anyway. I suppose this is how many of them meet their end, from water to water.
