A beautiful morning …..
We’re blessed by a few magical hours of sunshine this morning, so beautiful and fleeting it’s almost dreamlike.
G drops me off in Rhos on Sea while he visits his mum. The little town is bathed in light while Colwyn Bay is covered in cloud. The sea is beautifully calm, and with the morning’s tide high, the boats in Rhos’s tiny harbour are reflected perfectly.
It’s a long time since I’ve been down here and I’m reminded that I really need to get back into the habit of local walks. We’re so fortunate to live in such a gorgeous area so there really isn’t any excuse especially on a day like this. I walk back along the prom, leaving behind the sunshine and heading into the gloom which soon subsumes the whole bay, and arrive home pleased by my efforts.
We’re both busy working on the final elements of preparation for our big trip - I can’t believe we go in less than four weeks. G is sorting out visas - the Indian one taking hours both because of the detail needed and the temperamental website which means he keeps having to restart. I’m checking through our Japan itinerary - changing some hotels and checking transport which will be mostly rail.
The evening sees us in a camera club presentation on Astrophotography run by a very talented club member. It’s fascinating and his deep space images are stunning, but I know I just won’t have the patience - or mental capacity- to take up this very specialist hobby.
Of course, this all refers to Tuesday - a day where we all still clung to the hope that Harris would be victorious. Today we’re coming to terms with the harsh reality of a Trump victory. My thoughts are with so many blip friends across the pond - though of course, Trump’s victory will have an impact way beyond America.
