More rainbows!

Today has been a much cheerier day. Mum will be sent home later today as her fever has completely subsided, her temperature stable. I managed to speak with a doctor who explained that she would be better at home in her own bed resting. Hospital is not a good place for resting! Unfortunately there is little that can help with the diverticulitis other than the medication she already takes and diet. Charlotte and I have tried many times to persuade mum that a diet plan is the way to go but at 95 she has her own mind and says it makes no difference what she eats. I guess we'll have another go at buying helpful foods!
When she finally got home at 7pm the carers were very kind, gave her tea and toast and got her ready for bed. They will have kept and eye on her overnight too. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
I went to my sewing group this afternoon, although it was mostly phone calls for me, and my friend Liz brought the bears and dogs crocheted and ready to give back to my great niece. They were made from a gift Ava had been given for her birthday but is only 7 and neither her nor her mum had a clue how to start. Crochet, other than granny squares, is not my forte, but Liz is a whizz!
Thank you Liz, you are a star. Thank you also all my sewing friends who were a real support this afternoon.
