Autumn Color (Tiny Version)

With Blake safely back home with his family (and a proper prescription for antibiotics) We needed a a good walk in the hills. We took Spike to his happy place above Spring Lake. I was hoping to find a good picture of autumn color and took one of Rincon Valley* laid out below us, but it doesn't have the impact that driving among the trees at street level has.

The Chinese Pistache trees, plentiful in Santa Rosa are at their peak this week. They seem to take on an almost internal glow....We were motivated to plant one by our driveway after the fire. It hasn't grown much in the poor soil, but it changes color every year. I took a picture of it as we drove into our driveway and was quite pleased with it for some reason.

Someone backed into the rose bush on the left and the deer have pretty well finished off what's left of all three of them but they are a nice contrast with the little tree bravely sporting it's autumn color and announcing the coming of winter....

I'm tagging it for Tiny Tuesday because as trees go, it IS tiny, but also hopeful.
