Playing for Canada
The Canadian women's curling tour of Scotland arrived in Stranraer at the weekend. Twenty two women from all over Canada will spend the next few weeks touring Scotland and playing against Scottish women. This tour was meant to happen in 2020 but was postponed because of the pandemic. There should have been 24 women on the tour but the 4 years delay has taken its toll and they are 2 players down. At each venue 2 Scottish curlers will step in and play for Canada and today I was one of them. Due to the closure of Ayr ice rink last year we hosted them at Lanarkshire today. The Ayr ladies did a fantastic job of making all the arrangements and we were happy to help them put on such a successful event. They were even treated to a fireworks display as the ice rink overlooks Strathclyde Park.
The Canadians now move on to other areas of Scotland before returning to play against Lanarkshire on their final day. I'll be playing on the Scottish side for that one.
