Sulpher Tuft (?) on live oak tree
I'd like to know more about fungi... they are a fascinating part of the natural world.
Not to eat them as much as understand more about them. I'm probably too ancient to make much of a study of it now, but with some guesses and Roger Phillips's book Mushroom, I'll make a fool of myself.
I think these might be sulphur tufts hypholoma fasciculare. They're set on an oak itself home to a lovely coat of moss. The largest is about one inch across, so plenty of them are proper tiny.
Had a chat with the builder about the current delay to works, but he's confident of having the kitchen finished in time for the delivery of the new units on the 19th. We can only hope his confidence is not misplaced.
I am not at all confident of the outcome of today's US election. But I don't get a vote, so I can't take any blame. Good luck, America... half of you are going to be disappointed, and now you'll know how we felt about Brexit.
