Growing old disgracefully

By GOD

DOON THE WATER

I had a longing for the sea, so when the Professor asked me what I wanted to do on Date Wednesday, I plumped for a walk at Portencross. It was muggy and threatening rain when we set out, but the clouds were beginning to lift off Arran, as the Waverley paddled by, with the sound of the paddles churning cheerfully. You could even hear people chatting on deck. But I think the rocks in the foreground stole the show.

Coffee at Seamill and then home to swelter as I hand weeded the onion patch (the onions are far too big now to hoe among). Managed more time in the garden as the evening cooled down, including a lovely sit on my gorgeous purple lounger.
