A fuchsia flowering in the garden
On my way to replenish the sunflower feeder which hangs from a bough over the patio I saw these flowers. The fuchsia has been very quiet all year but in recent times it appears to have liked the damp conditions and has produced a couple of small flowers.
I'm always in two minds about fuchsias. On a visit to Ireland many years ago I loved seeing the big bushes of fuchsias with very small pendulous flowers growing wild in the hedgerows.
I've never found a similar flowering plant back in England but have bought a couple of others which have never really caught my imagination in the same way. But it was good to see the colour on such a dull autumnal day in our back garden today.
