Every cloud has a silver lining
There are times when things seem to be bad that we have to look for the silver lining in the clouds.
John Milton referred to the silver lining of clouds in 1634 and so they became known as "Milton's Clouds." Then in 1840 Mrs S Hall in a magazine review wrote
"there's a silver lining to every cloud that sails about the heavens if we could only see it."
