Melbourne Cup

Our neighbours further up the glen hold a function for valley people on Melbourne Cup day.
Lots of nice food and drink and I had to remember to bring some respectable clothes down from Blackheath to wear.
I've never won a cent on the cup and this year was no exception with my sweep horse running boringly mid field. He was in the first 6 for the first few hundred metres but I am wise enough not to let that excite me.
Mr isbi had more success. His ran last so he got the wooden spoon and won $10.
