High Anxiety
America goes to the polls tomorrow. The tremors have been getting stronger for weeks so we await a choice of earthquakes. And the process will no doubt drag on for several agonising days before we get to the electoral college point. Maybe we are just destined to ongoing pain -
The world didn’t end
But it started to bend
Into colours and shapes
We could not comprehend
But at least Moldova stuck two fingers up at Russia, for what it’s worth.
As for me:
It is now almost impossible to choose what to read or what to watch or listen to without anxiety. That’s what you call suffering, followed by guilt at not doing either due to choice paralysis. A malaise of the affluent and indolent ...
The Dizzle invented a new concept called Birthday Boxing Day, i.e. a second day of birthday celebrations. So we had the big fry up brunch, after which I felt really ill ... I think my days of big fry ups may be over.
The afternoon was chilled but in the evening we went to Guildford with Strider, freshly returned from Germany. Excellent food in Positano, which seems to be the best Italian restaurant within a several miles radius. Plus you can play noughts and crosses with their toilet rolls.
Also a very nice Sicilian red and a nightcap of Balvenie in The Shack. Some first class banter. Good night.

Somewhere along the line today I found time to watch "Arctic Convoy", an excellent subtitled Norwegian film on Amazon Prime about the horrors of WWII and the supply lines to Russia. Very strong in every department.
