London Bridge has been
relocated to a lake
in Arizona!

We were up having breakfast at our motel in Flagstaff, Arizona by 7:30 this morning. A look outside told us it froze overnight and the car window was iced. We started the 208 miles journey to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in sunshine but a mere 3 C when we got on the Interstate 40 about 9 AM.
The trip was uneventful as we left the 6, 821 foot elevation of Flagstaff for the 738 foot elevation of Lake Havasu City, By the time we arrived in Lake Havasu it was time to peel off some layers. We were pleased to greet a sunny, warm afternoon.
I had to take my friend to see the London Bridge, a feature on the waterfront in Lake Havasu City. This bridge, originally built in the 1830s, spanned the Thames River in London, England. In 1968, Robert McCulloch purchased the exterior granite blocks of the original bridge to use in the construction of a new bridge in Lake Havasu, Arizona. The city embraced the London Bridge and it has become a tourist attraction.
We had our lunch of fish and chips near the bridge in the "English Village". The sun was warm and the blue sky was delightful.
We're on the home stretch now. Tomorrow night we will sleep in my house in Yuma.
