The Last Splash of Color
Our little hackberry tree is putting on a spectacular show this fall and is now the most vibrant thing in sight. I know the color won't last long, but plan to enjoy it while I can. I placed some perches and bird seed in the optimum location in terms of light and color and then waited for the action. I was a little surprised to see this young male House Sparrow who up as I have not seen one in several months. And although I am not a huge fan of this invasive species, they are pretty birds and easy to photograph. I am guessing this is an immature male just comparing to the adult male that I posted this spring HERE
I had my 3 month visit with the rheumatologist this morning. He is increasing my folic acid to offset some of the side effects of the higher dose of methotrexate that I am now taking (and that seems, happily, to be working). Hopeful that it may also help the nausea that the meds cause; if not, I may switch to a weekly injection when I see him in February. We'll see.
Had a "mindful movement" class via zoom at noon and then I got to work on the photos from yesterday and whittled the number down a bit more. In spite of the noise, I really did get some good shots.
Tomorrow is Election Day. I have no idea what the outcome will be although I am hopeful. I don't have any high expectations that we will get results right away - certainly "he" will contest any swing state that he doesn't win which will trigger recounts, lawsuits and constant vitriol. I just want it to be over - it's exhausting.
Tomorrow is going to be another beautiful day with temps in the low 70's. We desperately need rain, but it is hard not to love this unseasonably warm weather.
Dark with ginger today.
