Leafy
On another dreary, Tupperware day, I struggled to find anything much in the garden. In the end I resorted to beating, but that got me very little more than the few invertebrates I'd already spotted myself. Of these the Green Shieldbugs were the most obvious, but only because of their size: colour-wise, they're now darkening right down in preparation for hibernation.
This one was resting on a dying leaf of the yellow flag iris in the wildlife pond, which gave a nicely toning background.
