I have become a massive canal nerd. Thanks to the construction of the new hospital, it is now possible to walk along a section of the long-defunct Cape arm. Sadly there's no access to the main line owing to a bridge that was built to provide passage for water and ducks only (and probably canoes if you were to duck).
