Hedera helix. (common ivy)


I'm beginning to see leaves in my sleep. But I am finally preparing my first assignment of leaf drawings from various perspectives. Drawing  accurately in perspective took a bit of getting my mind around and it could be quite frustrating but lots of practice later and I am finally gaining confidence. One leaf done, three more to go.

The ivy leaf was a good starting point as it is a simple shape and there are many available leaves around to choose from. Our dog, Jak, has become quite used to me stopping during our walks and studying leaves before plucking a few from the hedgerows.
