In the catacombs
Unit EC 20: Condensate pipes.
The pump (on the right side, in the back) pumps the condensate (condensated steam from the turbine) from the condenser to the feedwatertank in two steps: Low pressure (6 bar) which is also used to cool the hydrogen coolers of the generator and high pressure (15 bar) which runs through the condensate preheaters where it is heated up before it enters the feedwatertank.
The pipes are hanging in so-called springhangers because they must be able to move about 50 cm when the pump is started up.
Flow can have a maximum of 500 kg/sec!
