Voices calling from the past.
I was in Rothesay this morning at the monthly Bute Yard market for the second time, which was even better than the first time.
However I dont think I had noticed this before at the end of the High St.
The little gathering place on the corner below the castle has three bells displayed - the old town bell, and one each from the former West Kirk and the former St Brendan's.
I remember the West Kirk being demolished - in fact I blipped about it - and it was good to see this memorial which presents something of importance which lives on no matter the fate of the buildings (one could call it their soul, or at the very least their voice) . In fact I found it quite emotive , prompting all sorts of thoughts about who would have made and rung these bells, and who would have heard them and hurried at their call.
