The Rakes Progress

The leaves were becoming rather slippery.

I sometimes wonder why its the oldest people on the road who go out and do these jobs. Its the same with spreading Rock Salt or shevelling snow on the rare occasions when we get any.
Perhaps its because we are the most likely to slip and fall. Or perhaps we are the only ones who walk  up and down it every day and all our neighbours are in their cars. Or perhaps its the way we were brought up ? 
PS later. A neighbour further up the road has come out to do some sweeping. Perhaps we have inspired her.
