Virtual Reality
At the beginning of summer fire brigades hold a "Get Ready Day" to allow members of the public to visit the fire station and get information on how to prepare for the fire season.
It is normally not very well attended despite the offer of a free sausage sandwich. Today we had the extra attraction of the FLAIM virtual reality equipment which is used for training. So more than usual members turned up and even a few visitors.
I was keen to try out the VR as it's probably as close as I'll ever get to to a real fire. It was fun. I managed to put out a grass fire which almost took me out and a fire in a back hoe which was very stubborn.
Here is Mr isbi having a go.
