(Backblipped from Wednesday. My Mum is recovering slowly from a gastric bug and is very weak and wobbly, and extremely frustrated at her enforced inaction. I shall be on my knees by the weekend trying to keep up with her normal workload. I definitely didn't inherit her capacity for hard work. She told me again as she watched TV news reporters desperately trying to fill in time for hours on end, that I too was born in St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, in a thunderstorm and weighed in at 9lb 8oz. It wasn't the private wing though, and not many people were very excited about it.)
