A 'Shroom....

Last night I got a message from one of the women who used to be in the craft association.
She was wondering if I still 'did things with wood' (a bit personal I felt).
What she was after was 'Pull Knobs' (her description - not mine) for some blinds she is making.
Working on the additional description of 'like the keyring I bought from you' (years ago by the way) and 1"-2" long, I made a prototype from sh*t pine this morning and SWMBO and I had a wander round for appraisal.
On the way I took a handful of shots of the fallen leaves and wet webs (over HERE).
She seemed delighted with the prototype ..... and ordered 6 'real' ones.
I was asked for a price and said 'nothing'. I was told in no uncertain terms that that wasn't happening. I pointed out that they will be made from bits of scrap and they take no time to make.
Nope ..... she wanted a price!
As there were 6 I said £6.
No! was the reply.
Okay £5 then ........
She very nearly swore at me for that (just as well SWMBO was there).
I was also told that sneaking round and posting them through the letter-box while she was out wont wash either.
Damn - Plan B was out the window.
We managed to escape before any kind of 'deal' was done.

When I was out in the garage starting the job our newest neighbour was parking one of his cars in the space behind mine (I tend not to use my drive so as to make it harder for the prat across the road to abandon his van taking up both the spaces).
The new neighbour asked if it was okay where he had put it (it was the first time we had spoken despite them having been in since just after Easter).
We had a quick chat (he had lengths of wood on his shoulder) and introduced ourselves. It turns out he is a 'teacher' of engineering at the college.

I have made 6 'pulls' but am going to make another half dozen so there is a good selection to choose from (and I am not going to be taking money).
