Magpie at eye level

As I was walking Laney this morning I noticed a Blue jay eating something on the ground. It flew off as we got closer. Then a Magpie swooped down and took over where the jay left off. I thought Laney was going to step on it! But at the last second the Magpie flew up to a branch right over the tasty treat and waited for me to take its photo and get the heck out of its way!
