IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN!

Hello Lovely Blippers,

This is Hoggy writing today - it will be the last time we see you all for a while because Spikey, Porlock and me are all going into hibernation, which means we will be asleep for about five or six months, depending on the weather.  This is Porlock’s first go at hibernation and we are sure that all will be well - we will all look after one another. 

All hedgehogs hibernate - we will be in a very deep sleep and won’t be eating anything - in fact, it saves us having to forage for food during the very cold weather.  We will miss our friends, but as we are asleep, not quite as much as they will miss us, so please look out for them for us and make sure you remind them to BE KIND.

We are very fortunate living with the HCBs because there is a great woodpile in their garden and lots of comfortable leaves, as you can see in this shot.  No doubt many of you wish you could do the same!  Mr. HCB is working in the garden, as usual, so we said goodbye to him before we jumped into the big pile of leaves.

It’s not actually that cold just yet, but we thought that we would get ourselves ready today - and we have eaten lots of good things in the last few days, so that we won’t waste away!  We have actually done Mrs. HCB a favour because we found a ginormous bar of chocolate and although hedgehogs don’t usually eat chocolate, we decided that to save her from ruining her new eating plan, we would help her out - wasn’t that kind of us?  

We think that Admirer would have approved and perhaps even giggled if she had seen us struggling to get the chocolate out of the large pack but we managed.  

We also wanted to wish Mischa, Admirer’s lovely daughter, a very happy birthday for Monday - we are all hoping to be able to meet Mischa, her husband and their little daughter one day, so perhaps in the Spring when we come out of hibernation, we can do that.  It will mean lots of travelling, but we are sure the HCBs will help us all.

I’m sure we don’t really need to remind you to BE KIND, but we are going to do that, because we won’t be around to remind you for a while.  I expect someone else in the Silly Saturday Gang will do it - we have asked them to and as we always say, you never know how much you will help someone by being kind to them.  We know how kind Blippers are, so I’m sure you won’t let us down!
