A special day for someone!

On the towpath at our mooring, Frank bumped into Gail from our village.
She had walked from Gargrave and was heading to Skipton. He invited her on board for a coffee and we ended up giving her a lift into Skipton.
I didn’t know her as well as Frank does but she’s really lovely. As we arrived at the Skipton canal basin she said it was her 60th birthday and we made it very special for her. I wish I’d had a cake on board.
She lost her hubby just over a year ago. 
She went off for a walk in Skipton Castle Woods.
I went shopping for some things and later we went out for dinner with our friends from Dumfries - Jan and Chris who live in New Abbey and it was them who got us into Narrowboating.
I forgot to take a selfie of us!
