All Hallows

Walked up to the hairdresser in the village this morning and I knew that this display outside our church had been out for a couple of days so decided to make it my blip. 
It is All Saints or All Hallows day, hence All Hallows’een yesterday, and All Souls Day this weekend, a day to remember those departed, so it seemed appropriate and I won’t be here for Remembrance Sunday this year. Also suitable for flower Friday 

Chris put the cross up on Monday evening, the same one we use at Easter, and the ladies from the WI adorned it with their net of lovely hand made poppies. It has been used now for a few years so you may already be familiar with it but it never fails to impress. 

I’m so pleased that there are many such displays around the country nowadays. So important to remember the fallen and  those who are no longer with us but have played an important part in our lives.
