On This Day

Honeysuckle

The first day of November and the honeysuckle is still flowering. It's so very mild. The grass is growing and in the garden, in addition to the honeysuckle,  there are flowers of:
Sweet Pea
Cosmos
Japanese Anemone
Nasturtium
Orkney Cherry Geranium
Plumbago
Verbena
Calendula
Campanula
Scabious
and others I'm sure I've missed. It just doesn't seem right.

I enjoyed the yoga class yesterday. It was really nice to be in the studio instead of on my floor at home (noticing the dust). There were only two of us, plus the teacher, so there was some helpful individual attention. The teacher said she could have placed a tray of drinks on my back when I was in table pose but I'm not so sure about that.

The evening was a great success. Firstly there were a few little guisers including William Wallace (NOT Braveheart) who recited the first verse of Scots Wha Hae. Excellent performance. There were a few good jokes too.

Then nine of us gathered at a friend's house for a sumptuous meal which hit the spot for everyone. Persian chicken was the centrepiece and it was delicious.

Poor planning on my part as I'm off to Glasgow today to meet some people for lunch. We're having tapas so I can moderate my intake. It's a group of former colleagues so it'll be good to see them all and catch up. That's the second time this week I've seen people from my working life.

Once I'm home I've got a tech guru visiting. The organisation of which I'm a trustee changed its online operating system a couple of weeks  ago and my email has gone haywire. There's a great group called the Scottish Tech Army - essentially IT  volunteers who support charities to get their technology sorted. I'm hoping it won't be a long session.

Have a good weekend everyone
