Wednesday Came a Calling!
We don't have many young children on our street and being half way up the hillside means trick or treaters tend not to call, but it's always lovely to have our mini neighbours knock on the door for treats.
Tony and I had planned to walk across the Moor to Ilkley for lunch today. The weather didn't play and it was damp, misty and blustery but we went ahead. I can't say it was the most enjoyable walk but good exercise. We picked up a few things on our list in Ilkley: loose tea and cakes in Betty's; a measuring jug from the excellent hardware store where we also saw ex-blipper and much missed MrJohn, which was lovely. After lunch in the Little Teahouse where I had most welcome and delicious spiced pumpkin and red lentil soup with a warm cheese scone, we headed to the station for the train back to Shipley and then to Bingley. The buses didn't coincide with the train so we walked home from there.
Back home and the squirrels had nibbled my pumpkin! Cheeky!
