Self care
Another early morning for a haircut down in town. It was a lovely walk down in bright sunshine, and again very mild. We went a bit shorter again, although not by much, and I had a good chat with R about fitness, TV, antibiotics and dogs. Straight from there to get my flu jab…I decided not to bother with the Covid one this time. From there I decided to stay in town and went to John Lewis for a while before getting an early lunch of soup and a roll that I had a token for. I spent most of the day as I walked between appointments listening to the rest of the audiobook I started on Monday….and it was rather good to be walking on the streets that were being mentioned in the book.
On to see J and then browsed Waterstones and had a cup of tea before walking over to have a hearing test. First time I’ve been in 7years apparently, and rather to my surprise my hearing is almost exactly the same, and I don’t need to think about hearing aids.
I wandered into Princes St gardens as the sun was glinting on the castle (although that had rather gone by the time I’d crossed the road and found a good viewpoint), then decided to catch a bus home. I caught up with some emails then made an Eve’s pudding with the apples I’d picked at Mt&H’s and froze the rest of them, did the ironing and had an early supper. Despite the dark I set off to drive to Pathhead to join the choir CH has found for us. We met in Crichton church…very much out in the middle of nowhere….and it was good fun. I was very pleased to be sitting next to an alto who was rock solid in her note pitching, which really helped me! Got home at 10pm by which time of course there were no parking spaces so I’ll have to be up and moving it before 7am again…grr!
