Budgeting
PY was due to give blood tonight, but quite late in the day, it was cancelled. So, after discovering I'd forgotten to book an appointment last week, we might get back in sync. Instead, he came back and cooked some delicious burgers while I was doing my Tai Chi class, which was remote this week.
The picture shows the little wooden box usually stored on the side by the bed that holds small change. There was a bigger pot for change at one point, but now I use almost no cash, so even the coins in the box have been here a while. I don't remember the box's origin, but I have had it for a long time. I don't often keep the lid sealed, but it does cover the box loosely.
I thought a picture of a money box appropriate as today was the announcement of the first budget day for this government; among other things, the chancellor announced the promise of a 10-year plan for the NHS, that the national living wage for over-21s will increase by 6.7% to £12.21 per hour, employers' national insurance contributions will go up, the government will fund HS2 to London Euston, and there will be an extra 50% air passenger duty for private jets. Only the HS2 might impact me directly, assuming I am still around when it's finished.
