Gotcha!
Adding to my yardbirds list for the year, I finally managed to get some decent shots of a Ruby-crowned Kinglet this morning. He was flitting around in the garden, never pausing while he looked for tiny, delicious insects. Kinglets are a common species here this time of year as they move through heading south for the winter. They are quite small and constantly in motion, usually in thickets, so not always easy to get photos of. Unfortunately, this one did not have his ruby "crown" raised. Alas.
The number of robins in the garden has dropped noticeably today although there are still a few hanging around. Soon, though ... On the flip side, there are more and more dark-eyed juncos showing up now.
I did not get as much accomplished today as I had hoped, but a few things ticked off the list. And tomorrow I'm off to meet some friends for a walk in a wetlands area which will be fun. Temps in the 70's today and tomorrow - crazy!
