Newport Wetlands

Started the day with a bit of decorating (the kitchen cupboard doors) then gave K1 a lift to visit B in the Gwent. I sloped off to find a café to hang out until summoned, then we went down to Newport Wetlands RSPB centre for a wander. Stopped in at the centre for K1 to top up before heading out to the coast, surprisingly mild in the sunshine but there were a few ominous looking clouds around. We’d turned back at the lighthouse when we felt the beginnings of a shower but it cleared quickly so we headed back out a different route, completing a figure of eight and a much more comfortable couple of hours out. Headed back via B&Q and Wickes to have a look at doors and pick up some supplies; as we were on the Harlequin roundabout I saw some of the murals in sunlight so had to park up and get some shots for the family history journal. They didn’t make the final cut today, maybe another time.
