Long arm

It is the long arm of the law, no, what do I say, the long arm of the crane truck that was needed when the remains of a large sawn down tree were removed.  But the arm did not reach the pieces furthest away. My husband and I stood and thought about how the crane operator would fix it. He did, but how, do you think?
