I Love Watching the Ocean

I’m not sure why this looks so dark and stormy, because it was a bright sunny morning, but I like it, especially that big wave. It was a nice walk. Such a variety of dogs! And a couple of plein air painters setting up their enormous piles of gear along the path. Their canvases were about 5x7 at the most, but there were full size easels, two big umbrellas, boxes of paint, brushes, water, extra canvas, a stool, a giant roll of paper towels, and big wagons to pull it all to the best vantage point. I thought it was hysterical. Here I am trying to get my gear into a tiny mini kit to fit in a small purse: limited palette, water brush, small journal. Or scaling down to an iphone from an SLR. They were younger, I’ll say that.
