fixing the signal

I've been thinking about the things I want to teach next year and promptly fell down a rabbit hole. The world of scientific software is constantly evolving. Looks like there are some rather nice new (10 years old or so) packages to plot data. 

Spot some strange lights on a roof on the way home. Looks like the mobile phone antenna needed some attention.

At home I dug out a report on a computational physics project I wrote during my second year. I think I will redo bits of it using current tools. This should help me figure out what I am going to teach and I get to play with some (easy) physics. I did spot some mistakes in my report and I also missed out some crucial bits but I am sure I can remind myself.
