Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

I cut the grass for the last time. Though I think I said that last time I cut it. But it did need another tidy up. Besides, tomorrow is the final Garden Bin of the year, so I might as well use it.

We had a very exciting Links walk, where we saw not just a squirrel, but Pip and his dad too. Actually, Archie did not see the squirrel, even though it sat and looked at him part way up the trunk. It's those eyebrows - like blinkers! He doesn't see anything above eye level.

I then pottered the day away. Opened my suitcase. Put a few items in it. Tried a pair of shoes that I might bring with me - I need proper shoes in case we get wet weather. I wore them all day, but one toe is very sore this evening. I'll try them again tomorrow.

JR and Hazel were supposed to be going into town for some sort of shop charity event, but Hazel isn't feeling too sprightly after her Covid and flu jabs yesterday, so JR has decided to stay at home too. She did ask if I'd care to accompany her, but I have a prior engagement... a big box of Maltesers and 'Dogs Behaving Badly (Australia)' on tv…
