Statten Island Ferry

I realised today it's been 6 years since I last took the Statten Island Ferry. We went so many times in our first summer here, I decided that all our guests had to do it by themselves in the future.

What was I thinking?! It's free entertainment! Freeeee!!! It was an awesome day!

But, comparing photos this evening, so much has changed. 6 years ago, the kids were aged 3-10. Today, First Born would rather skate at Chelsea Piers ("But thanks for the lift, Mom!" Im not even a Mum anymore!), 12 yo Second Born towers over me and 'The Babies' are definitely not babies any more.

Not to mention, 6 years ago, there was still a giant hole in the landscape where the Twin Towers once stood. And now look.

Life certainly goes by very quickly. It's been a terrifying, bizarre, but utterly, utterly awesome 6 years. And I wouldn't change moving here in a million years.
