New Lens (Tuesday 29th October 2024)
This is the first new lens I have bought since well over three years ago, and that was a kit lens that came with my white Pentax K-50 camera. Hopefully its 18-135mm range will make it my most versatile DSLR lens as it has such a wide range of focal lengths. There should be occasions when this will enable me to only carry one camera when otherwise I would need two (I don’t like to change lenses whilst out and about to help keep sensors free from dust).
It is designed for APS-C lenses but I hope I can expand its range slightly on my full-frame Pentax K-1 before vignetting sets in at its wider full-frame settings (it also has a crop mode, of course).
It was dark by the time it was delivered but I hope to try it out tomorrow, using the K-1. It will distract me from getting angry at the Budget ;-).

This has come over the radio twice in the last few days, and I had never heard it before. It was chosen by Kelly MacDonald on Cerys Matthew's Sunday programme on R6M when she broadcast from Glasgow.
