Silver-eye in the rain

Taken through the window - bit wet outside. Not sure what the flower is that this silver-eye was feeding on, looks a bit like a small bottlebrush (leaf and flower form) with hints of pohutukawa. Just a low bush, and something we don't see in the South Island?
