Maryborough. Fr Paul Tissot of the French Order of Augustinians of Assumptions was the first RC Parish Priest for St Mary`s Church in the town. About 1909 he built the church, gardens and Priests house. He never got the hang of English, carried on in his own language. He put the Rooster up to always remind him of his French roots, been there ever since.
