Old County Hall, Aylesbury.
The challenge is Memory for today’s Blip.
We moved to Aylesbury in 1971 so I thought I would photograph something in the town which was there in 1971 and has not been altered. There are not many buildings or scenes which have remained unchanged over those 53 years.
The Old County Hall is still there, at the lower end of the cobblestone market place. Built between 1722 and 1740, the delays were all funding related (something else which has not changed). The building was built as a goal together with two court rooms. The building has been used as the County Office, the Town Hall, the Police headquarters and includes the Judges Lodgings.
Today it is just an historic building. It did house a famous trial, the Great Train Robbery case was held here in 1964.
In extras is a "record" shot from 1845!
