Weaning
After being up 5 times last night to feed Conor, I decided that it was definitely time to start weaning. Current guidance says that there is no evidence that weaning helps with sleep and that before 6 months you should just suck it up and breastfeed them as often as they want (not the exact phrasing of the leaflet, admittedly). Anyway, I have decided that I will do my own experiment and introduce solids rather than surrender to two months of no more than 2 hours sleep at a stretch every night. Today was started with baby rice. He may look like he's enjoying it here, and he did actually eat some, but his overall verdict was definitely "meh". He's just going to have to get used to it.
In other news, this morning we all went to watch Orla at her swimming practice. She was very hesitant to begin with but was trying hard towards the end. We came home and cuddled up on the sofa to watch Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, with a break for lunch. After the film she and I baked banana bread. While I was greasing the tin she asked "do you not have any Pam baking spray?". She gets this stuff from watching a YouTube baking channel called Nerdy Nummies. It is also thanks to Nerdy Nummies that she wants to make Angry Bird cupcakes.
