I got a Golden ticket!!!

Just look at this bunch of crazy people.....guess which one is me haha!

It was my goddaughter Evie's birthday on Friday and this was her Willy Wonka themed party. She is the little cutie hugging the giant chocolate bar ;)
Every year her mother puts together a wonderful celebration, complete with spectacular decorations and goodie bags.

This year she made an amazing cake, but.....there was a mishap. The link, is to the cake she made back in May for my godson, Evie's little brother. And it is with him that the story evolves.....

On Saturday morning, around 3:30am, the cake was finally finished; complete with miniature hand crafted sugar figurines of Charlie, Mr Wonka, the Umpa Lumpas and all the other kids.....as it was late and everyone was asleep it seemed like an okay idea to leave the cake on top of the cooker as it was the coolest place at the time.

Can you guess what happened next?

Well.....just a few hours later; details are a little vague and the timings I am unsure of, but, the little man, "accidentally" switched on the hob and set the cake on fire!!!!!!!!

Much rushing around and screaming followed, and as the smoke cleared I'm sure there were many many tears ;(

That all happened Saturday but by Sunday it was all smiles again.
The shop bought cake was a reluctant purchase but thank goodness the kitchen didn't burn down.....it is still a little too soon to make jokes about it but I heard whisperings of "you can't have your cake and HEAT it" tee hee!

We had fun!
