Plant in a pond

This plant ( i do not know its name ) lies dormant in my small pond for about 9 Months of the year then it grows very rapidly from about 1 foot above water to 5 feet with these stunning flowers.also has very small root system. then only downside is it drinks water by the bucketful from the pond, but lovely to watch
